I have a shellscript written in php that needs to connect to a mysql database. Everything I've been reading suggests that this cannot be done easily. Is this true?
Not that I know of. I have several cli php scripts that access mysql databases on FreeBSD and Win2k. There must be something not quite right about your setup. Care to share more information?
