I created a new extension in php-4.3.1 using the ext_skel script. When I edit the config.m4 file, I see a comment that says 'If your extension references something external, use with' seems rather ambiguous. It’s not clear if ‘something external’ is the UNIX file system, a socket connection to another system, another DSO, or something else.
What is the difference between --with-... and --enable-... in config.m4. More importantly, why would I choose one or the other.
