Well, I really don't know how much clearer the sentence that says "The optional offset parameter allows you to specify which character in haystack to start searching" can be -- if you can suggest some better wording, that would have worked for you, then maybe one of us can add a user note to the manual and/or a documentation bug requesting an enhancement. And, notwithstanding the clarity of the description, I agree it would be useful to have another example showing the use of the 3rd argument, so that could be done in the same way. Cheers!
