Well, I only use JPGs for my caching, but I accept GIFs and PNGs (though
nobody has taken me up on it yet, I think), so all I can say is that that
works.  I don't see why PNGs wouldn't, though, except that in my quick
tests they seem a heck of a lot bigger than JPGs...
