One of the bad habits that top posting encourages is that of not trimming the post. That is why there is so much crap to wade through. *Most* bottom posters are savvy enough to trim posts adequately to ensure that there is no crap to wade through whilst maintaining some kind of continuity within a thread. > Top posting is more efficient for those who are following along. That is a selfish thought <g>. 1) It is certainly not efficient in bandwidth terms (see above). 2) It is certainly not efficient for people who are not fully clued up on the thread (or they may have jumped in mid-way), as they have to keep scrolling down to see what the heck the top poster is ranting on about. -- Jason Wong -> Gremlins Associates -> www.gremlins.biz Open Source Software Systems Integrators * Web Design & Hosting * Internet & Intranet Applications Development * ------------------------------------------ Search the list archives before you post http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=php-general ------------------------------------------ /* Parts that positively cannot be assembled in improper order will be. */ -- PHP General Mailing List (http://www.php.net/) To unsubscribe, visit: http://www.php.net/unsub.php
