Well you don't need an i786 and probably won't find one. i786 means you can use it if you have a PIV but not a PIII -- basically it takes advantage of architecture specific things. You could use an i586 or i686 or i386 fine -- you just wouldn't get any hyperthreading (I'm not even sure if this is supported by the Linux kernel)
