is it possible with PHP to download and open a remote tar.gz file?? I read in the manual that it is, but it never seems to work for me.
I tried opening the file with fopen
fopen("zlib://http://www.site.com/update.tar.gz";, "r");
but it didnt work
Then I tried using the zlib functions but they just returned garbage. I
think it might have something to do with it not being able to handle ".tar"
