It _is_ a PHP extension. PEAR only hosts things written in PHP itself,
right?
Midgard is written in C, midgard applications are written in PHP using
the Midgard
extensions. I don't see the problem. _Every_ PHP extension I see
utilizes
external libraries and/or servers, and so does Midgard.
