Description:
------------
I did not have time to fully test this, but it appers that if a PHP
script tries to access a MySQL server that is not running, yet still
has a control socket (Say the mysqld crashed), PHP will segfault.

I've come to this assumption after spending a considerable amount of
time trying to find out why PHP was segfaulting.
After running out of ideas, I looked at the mysql server and found that
it was not running. When I restarted mysql, it complained about the unix
domain socket still existing.
