php_gd2.dll works fine. You must have mixed up dlls, php.ini's extension_dir directive or something else. Namely, I copied over 5.0.5 DLL files into the Apache directory. Installing 5.0.5 over 5.0.4 breaks the GD functionality, because it cannot find the procedure entry into the DLL. Looks like the supplied php_gd2.dll file is too old/new/different than supposed to. The new 5.1.0 RC has the correct DLL coming with it, however I can't use it because the RC crashes in php5ts.dll every few minutes. Fix: Installing either 5.0.4 or 5.1.0 fixes the problem.
