Bug description: htmlentities won't encode whitespaces
Description:

Whenever I use the function htmlentities, it doesn't replace
whitespace characters to ' ', although this replacement is present in
the functions translation table.
Reproduce code:

$str = " ";
$str = htmlentities($str);
print "'$str'";
Expected result:
----------------
' '
Actual result:
--------------
' '
--
