From: adrian at autopublish dot com Operating system: Fedora Core 3 PHP version: 4.3.10 PHP Bug Type: Filesystem function related Bug description: Is a simbolic link a regular file?
Description: ------------ The is_file() documentation page says: is_file -- Tells whether the filename is a regular file If I pass a simbolic link to a file as parameter, the function returns true. So my question is: Is a simbolic link a regular file? I think it is not, so the result maybe a bug. Extra info: The filetype() function returns "link". Reproduce code: --------------- Linux command line: touch file ln -s file link echo '<? if (is_file("link")) echo "y\n"; ?>' | php -q Expected result: ---------------- Nothing should be printed after last command. Actual result: -------------- "y" is printed, so the function is returning true. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=32234&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (php4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=trysnapshot4 Try a CVS snapshot (php5.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=trysnapshot50 Try a CVS snapshot (php5.1): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=trysnapshot51 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=32234&r=mysqlcfg
