Oups, yes, you're right !

Well, I've added new probe inside PHP_FUNCTION(ftp_put) [the right one
;-D] and it seems the problem come from the call of

instream = php_stream_fopen(local, mode == FTPTYPE_ASCII ? "rt" : "rb",
NULL);

around line 890 that returns a NULL pointer.
I continue to track this bug.

Why would PHP call ftp_fput() when your script doesn't have any calls
to it in it? (you call ftp_put(), notice the missing  
'f' in front of put...)
