wget http://www.php.net/get/php-4.3.4.tar.gz/from/us2.php.net/mirror works fine Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-12-05 14:46:19] king_ramen at yahoo dot com Description: ------------ I need to download PHP onto a machine that has no browser. If you look at the URL fo PHP (after serveral clicks I may add), the "download link: looks like this: http://www.php.net/get/php-4.3.4.tar.gz/from/us2.php.net/mirror That is totally useless to curl as it is not the path to a file but instead a URL to a HTTP redirect. Might I suggest: 1. An FTP site. There are NO FTP downloads 2. If you MUST use HTTP, don't use a damn redirect. Post a URL to a useful file. Not everyone in the world is running web browsers and X11, Windows XP, etc. on their web servers. I need to download to my house and then upload to the server and that is a real pain.
