The Philosophy of Language reading group will run again this term, starting on Wednesday 10th October. We meet every week on Wednesdays from 1pm to 2pm in the Philosophy Board Room, which is on the third floor of the Raised Faculty Building.
The reading group consists of undergraduates, graduates and faculty who meet once a week to read and discuss a journal article or chapter that has a philosophy of language or linguistics dimension. Sometimes we read published work and sometimes we read working papers by students and faculty. We are very open to suggestions about reading materials and topics. No previous knowledge of philosophy of language is assumed, and students and faculty from all departments are welcome to join. If you would like to be added to the email list and receive information about each week's reading, please email Lucy McDonald - lm...@cam.ac.uk. (If you were on the list last year, you remain on it.) The reading for the first meeting will be 'Linguistic labor and its division' by Jeff Engelhardt in Philosophical Studies, 2018.
