Dear all,
On Wednesday, March 8, 1- 3pm, Casimir Lewy Library will open its doors
for a Wikipedia edit-a-thon where we will be add woman philosophers and
their ideas to Wikipedia. Our own Rae Langton was added by such an
effort in 2013. Join us & do your bit to make Wikipedia less sexist!
This is an easy and impactful intervention especially if you have worked
on a particular philosopher or topic within/connected to feminist
philosophy. We will have volunteers (and cookies) in the room to help
with the technicalities.
All you need to do beforehand is to set up a wikipedia account.
If you cannot make it this editing session, you can still contribute
your ideas on our brainstorming form here and edit in your own time.
To take on a more active role and gain new skills, join us for the
training session led by Wikipedia representatives on the same day at
Newnham College, Jane Harrison Room, 12-1pm. Email [email protected] to
reserve a spot at the Newnham training. We encourage you to attend the
training as this will probably make it easier for you to add entries on
the day of and in the future.
We hope to see you at <edit> in the library on International Women's
Day! (here is our facebook event:
