Dear all, Women in Philosophy are organizing a feminist intervention in coordination with a Newnham's International Women's Day 'Wikipedia edit-a-thon'. Our brainstorming meeting will be this Monday, 1-2, in the Board Room of the Philosophy Faculty.
All details below, and everybody welcome. We hope to see you there! *Why?* Woman philosophers often are not mentioned in Wikipedia's topical entries; they lack their own articles; their articles are substantially shorter or contain falsehoods/outdated information. *How?* *Part I: Brainstorming* We will join forces to brainstorm in the Philosophy Department's Board Room on *27 February, Monday, at 1-2pm* and come up with entries on woman philosophers and/or philosophical topics that can use some feminist editing. Feel free to bring your lunch. All are welcome to this meeting, regardless of whether they can make it on 8th March. *Part II: Training* We will attend a training session with the Wikipedia editors at Newnham they are bringing in for an all-day training session. It will take place on *8 March Wednesday 12-1pm*. Those who can make this slot should RSVP ( [email protected]) and those who want to get trained at another timeslot are encouraged to get in touch with Newnham to book a place. On the day, the slots will be first-come first-served (http://www.newn.cam.ac.uk/eve nt/wikipedia-edit-thon-mark-international-womens-day-2017-2/). *Part III: Editing* We will edit entries together over lunch at Newnham or back in the philosophy department immediately after training on 8 March Wednesday from 1-2pm.
