Dear all

This term, together with Yang Liu (Columbia and CSER), I'll be running a
graduate seminar on decision theory. We'll meet Thursdays 11-12:30, in the
Philosophy Common Room in the Faculty.

We aim to cover some controversies in modern decision theory, construed
broadly so as to include formal epistemology and related areas in the
philosophy of probability. We also hope that participants will be willing
to present their own work to the seminar.

We meet from 12pm-130pm on Thursdays in the Graduate Common Room. Our first
meeting is on

THURSDAY 14 JANUARY AT 12PM in the GRADUATE COMMON ROOM

and we'll be reading two papers on fuzzy belief:

1. A. Elga, 2010. Subjective probabilities should be sharp. Philosophers'
Imprint 10/5. (+ errata). See:

2. S. Bradley and K. Steele. 2014. Should subjective probabilities be
sharp? Episteme 11/3. See:

At this first meeting we'll also discuss possible directions for the rest
of term. Everybody is welcome, and anyone who wants to present work in
progress or a completed paper should contact me or Yang.

Best wishes, Arif
