Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the Michaelmas 2015 term card for the Cambridge WiP Group:

19th October, 12-2pm, Board Room, Faculty of Philosophy
Welcome social and introduction to being a woman in philosophy with Prof. Rae Langton (Cambridge) Rae’s talk and discussion will be followed by a *FREE LUNCH* to welcome new and returning students to WiP.
All welcome!

9th November, 12-1pm, Board Room, Faculty of Philosophy
Dr. Emily Ryall (Gloucestershire): Feminist Philosophy of Sport
As usual the talk will be followed by further discussion over lunch.

23rd November, 5-6pm, Board Room, HPS
Prof. Catherine Rowett (UEA)
Has it served ancient philosophy well to be in the grip of analytic approaches to philosophy?
As usual the talk will be followed by further discussion over dinner.

Everybody - from any department or gender - is welcome to attend. The fact that the group is open to all is important to us. We are still discussing whether to retain the current name of the group (Women in Philosophy), or change it (to something like Gender and Philosophy) and we hope to be in touch with dates for future discussions. We have decided to start having (at least annual) meetings in which we, and future organisers, discuss the aims of the group, so that this issue is kept alive and debated. As ever, we welcome any thoughts on this; please do email or talk to any of us.

WIP is a cross-departmental group for undergraduates, graduates and faculty supported by the Philosophy and HPS Faculties that aims to provide a forum for networking and celebrating the work that women philosophers are doing here at Cambridge and elsewhere. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this email.

Kind regards,

Ellisif Wasmuth, Emily Dyson, and Magali Krasny
