Sally Haslanger, Professor of Philosophy at MIT, and currently Faculty Visitor
at Cambridge, will be giving a seminar on Wednesday 10th June, 2pm - 5pm, in
Sidgwick Hall, Newnham College.

Her paper 'Ideology Beyond Belief: Social Practices and the Objects of
Critique' questions whether ideology can be understood simply as a set of
shared beliefs, and suggests instead that it is better construed in terms of
social practices - a construal that has important consequences for how
ideologies resist change. Katharine Jenkins (Sheffield/Cambridge) will be
commentating.
