To Philosophy Bulletin, Events, Undergrads & Grads lists - with apologies for any cross-posting
(I will also forward this on to POLIS, Law, Centre for Gender Studies, Anthropology, Divinity - Heather) ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Richard Holton <[email protected]> Sally Haslanger, Professor of Philosophy at MIT, and currently Faculty Visitor at Cambridge, will be giving a seminar on Wednesday 10th June, 2pm - 5pm, in Sidgwick Hall, Newnham College. Her paper 'Ideology Beyond Belief: Social Practices and the Objects of Critique' questions whether ideology can be understood simply as a set of shared beliefs, and suggests instead that it is better construed in terms of social practices - a construal that has important consequences for how ideologies resist change. Katharine Jenkins (Sheffield/Cambridge) will be commentating. _________________ Richard Holton Faculty of Philosophy University of Cambridge Sidgwick Avenue Cambridge CB3 9DA Tel: +44 (0)1223 760827 http://people.ds.cam.ac.uk/rjh221/index.html _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
