Dear all, this term we will be running a weekly Sellars reading group, Fridays 4:30-6pm, in the Graduate Common Room in the Philosophy Faculty. Everyone is welcome.
We will look into Sellars’ treatment of truth, picturing, representation and scientific realism. Our first meeting will be this Friday 16th of Jan, when we will be discussing a more accessible Sellars text: »Philosophy and the Scientific Image of Man« (1962), reprinted in Science, Perception and Reality, Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1-40. Online here: http://selfpace.uconn.edu/class/percep/SellarsPhilSciImage.pdf Anyone interested in further discussion may look into HUMANA MENTE, VOL. 21 May, 2012 available here: Carlo Gabbani (ed.) - Between Two Images. The Manifest and Scientific Conception of the Human Being, 50 Years On. http://www.humanamente.eu/Issues/Issue21.html Hope to see you there, Luz Christopher Seiberth _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
