Dr Lubomira Radoilska (Philosophy, Kent/Cambridge)

Wednesday, 3 December 2014, 5pm

Room S1, 1st floor, Alison Richard Building, Sidgwick Site, West Road

The event will be chaired by Dr Benedetto de Martino (Psychology,
University of Cambridge). It will be followed by a wine reception.

*About the speakers:*

Prof. Todd Hare is assistant professor at the Department of Economics at
the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He is a neuroscientist and
neuroeconomist investigating the neuronal mechanisms of decision-making. In
particular, he is studying the impact of factors such as stress, social
feedback, and attention on both self-control and normative decision making.

Dr Lubomira Radoilska is Lecturer of Philosophy at the University of Kent
and also affiliated to the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on
developing an Aristotelian theory of autonomous agency. Her recent
monograph, *Addiction and Weakness of Will* (OUP, 2013) argues for an
integrated account of these phenomena as limit cases of autonomy

*About the Moral Psychology Group:*

The Cambridge Moral Psychology Research Group brings together researchers
from different disciplines—including neuroscience, psychology, philosophy,
law, and others—who have a common interest in understanding moral
behaviour. The aims of the group are to (1) foster inter-disciplinary
collaboration, (2) help its members learn about relevant methods used in
other fields, and (3) host discussions with leading academics about the key
contemporary questions in moral psychology.

This event is part of a series of biweekly interdisciplinary debates on
moral psychology (http://www.crassh.cam.ac.uk/programmes/moral-psychology).
Our future events include an interdisciplinary research meetings and talks
by prominent researches on key contemporary issues in the field, including
empathy and consciousness.
