Dear all, I just wanted to let you know about a reading group that I am starting on ‘The Development of Wittgensteinian Thought’.
The idea is to provide a platform from which we can discuss work that derives its inspiration, directly or indirectly, from Wittgenstein’s ideas. We will read and discuss various articles, with a short summary presentation being given at the start of each meeting. At the end of the session, we will choose a new paper, which will hopefully come as a natural progression from where the discussion has led. It is my hope to develop a cross-disciplinary atmosphere and people from every department are most welcome. Similarly, there is no need to have any previous familiarity with Wittgenstein in order to attend - interest is enough! - and so students and staff from all levels of study are also welcome. The meetings will take place every other Friday, starting on the 14th of November, from 4-5:30pm, in the Philosophy Faculty Common Room. As a first paper topic I propose that we read Meredith Williams’ “The Builders”. It can be found here: https://jshare.johnshopkins.edu/mwilli20/mwilliams/Publications_files/The%20Builders.pdf Hope to see you there! Luke P.S. If you can’t make the first meeting but would like to be added to the mailing list, please send me an email at [email protected] and I will take care of it. _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
