Dear all, Please join us for the CamPoS (Cambridge Philosophy of Science) seminar
Wednesday 22nd October 1-2:30pm in the Dept of History and Philosophy of Science, Seminar Room 2. David Papineau (King's College London) will give a talk entitled "Causation as a thermodynamic phenomenon". The abstract is below. Best wishes, Christopher Abstract: This talk will argue that causation is not constituted by fundamental physical pushes, but is rather a macroscopic phenomenon akin to the increase of entropy. As well as defending this view by reference to recent probabilistic approaches to causation, the talk will explore some of its implications for physicalist reductionism in the philosophy of mind and elsewhere. _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEventsArchive Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
