ABSTRACT.

At De Libero Arbitrio, III, 2, Evodius sketches an argument trying to
show that since God foreknows everything we'll do, none of what we'll do
is free. Augustine responds to the argument by developing his own
account of freedom of the will, and arguing that on that account, divine
foreknowledge is no threat to our freedom. I try to figure out just what
Augustine's response is, and to evaluate its cogency.
