Also I felt in love with « artistic QR code » Especially half tone QR code. Basically it needs usual qrcode generation then some other (longer) processing. The best library I found is again a python one. You should try it ! Orignal réa search is great to read too (http://vecg.cs.ucl.ac.uk/Projects/SmartGeometry/halftone_QR/halftoneQR_sigga13.html).
