Hi, I think the most complicated part is that you are actually splitting your system in two: amber part/pharo part. yes is still two smalltalks, but that does not avoid the problem that you have to work on two essentially separated apps. Tide work is just to easy the binding between both of them.
Other reason why no one is using it is, probably, because nobody knows is there: things that are not marketed/exposed/explained are ultimately lost (it happened also with Reef and a lot other projects I had that IMO could have had better luck).
