I think the core/active group is more negative because of the way this
was done, with GB calling Jan, and Jan jamming it in with no discussion.

Jan originally had it in /bin/pg_dump as a new command and a new manual
page.  You can image the firestore that would have caused.  I called him
right away and got it into /contrib.
