Feel free to update a patch status to "needs review" yourself after submitting a new version that in your opinion respond to a reviewer's comments.
Sure, I do that. But I will not switch any of my patch to "Ready". AFAICR the concerns where mostly about imprecise comments in the code, and a few questions that I answered.
