Do you have query logs or can you send details of the query ? Tom has a patch in HEAD to avoid the issue, but I don't know if there's any plan to release 10.6 until november. As you probably know, it's maybe not safe to install PG10.4 binaries on a data dir where you've already upgraded to 10.5 (I believe because data file content might be written which may not be handled correctly by earlier minor release).
