It may look like this, but it is a single record --- mind the header "-[
RECORD 1 ]----------------+---------".
psql was called in expanded mode:

"-x" or "--expanded"

Example:

$ psql postgres -xc "SELECT 'foo' col1, 'bar' col2"
-[ RECORD 1 ]
col1 | foo
col2 | bar
