It’s fair to say it needn’t be a long statement for major versions: a single sentence such as “we try to avoid gratuitous breakage” is a perfectly reasonable framing. But I’d say, in the interest of completeness, it would be useful to document the policy for major release *as well as* minor releases. Best, David
