It worked for me for Portuguese characters using Unicode. I also tried some Japanese that I cut & pasted on my application by the time and it worked fine. You can always find some text in such idioms, cut & paste in your application or INSERT command and see if it is preserved exactly the same on the database. ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 2: Don't 'kill -9' the postmaster
