Thanks very much Tony.

I'll give it a go.

Subject: Re: [GENERAL] Tool

I am developing a database which needs testing prior to developing the host program. I am looking for an easy-to-learn tool. I want to develop an interface that I can use to enter and display information in a similar fashion to how a user would operate the database.
A GUI tool would be ideal.
I am running Postgresql v 8.0 on Windows XP.

If you are running on Windows I would recommend you use PG Lightning Admin, it has a MUCH better user experience that PG Admin and has a form view for dataset records, not to mention you can print, use code completion etc.

TIP 9: In versions below 8.0, the planner will ignore your desire to
choose an index scan if your joining column's datatypes do not
      match
