Fitst of all, I need to remind you that presently we are working on Windows OS (Windows XP-Professional). The errors occured when installing PostgreSQL on the above OS. Upon research I found out that I "MAY" require to install "Cygwin" first and then install PostgreSQL via its environment. Is this correct? Before, getting to other details, I want to be sure which way to go. a. Can PostgreSQL be installed on Windows? Which version of Windows? b. What is the deal with "Cygwin"? Do we need it at all or not? Awaiting your advise, I remain.
