Not for Perl, but Python: SQLalchemy. An ORM that allows you to have (nearly) arbitrarily complex mappings between your object model and the database tables. GUI frameworks that use SQlalchemy are: Sqlkit, Pypapi, Camelot, Qtalchemy.
