i tried but still had the same error and i dont know how to see the logs $ cd /usr/local/Cellar/postgresql/9.1.2/bin/ $ ./pg_ctl -D /usr/local/var/postgres stop -mi waiting for server to shut down............................................................... failed pg_ctl: server does not shut down
