- PostgreSQL cannot access its data directory (because of changed file/directory permissions) - PostgreSQL cannot open its port for communication (because of other running PostgreSQL / because of zealous firewalls) or wrong configuration files, i.e. errors in pg_hba.conf or postgresql.conf. Start the eventview application and check for entries in the application log.
