Kind of, you'll either use an environment variable: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/interactive/libpq-envars.html (specifically PGPASSWORD) or the pgpass file: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/´8.4/interactive/libpq-pgpass.html --Scott
