Something like the cube contrib? http://developer.postgresql.org/cvsweb.cgi/pgsql/contrib/cube/ Contribs are part of PostgreSQL sources and maintained as such, but not included into the 'core' project. They are certainly distributed along with PostgreSQL in your packaging system of choice.
