I suspected this already. Still the position of the closing angle bracket 
behind the "host" part in the syntax is IMHO wrong in the doc.

It currently says:
postgresql://[user[:password]@][host][:port][,...][/dbname][?param1=value1&...]

But shouldn't it say instead:
postgresql://[user[:password]@][host[:port]][,...][/dbname][?param1=value1&...]
