Only guessing, but did you use a different installer (e.g. the
pgInstaller) for the installation of 8.3.2?

In any case, it might be better to post to the main pgsql_general list -
this one is for pgAdmin, whereas your question is about PostgreSQL
itself. You'll have a much wider audience there also.
