Hi, i have followed the instructions and the build and install worked fine for me after installing the stated dependencies (on Ubuntu 7.10 - amd64).
Furthermore, i managed to get pgadmin3 it to work fine after install (at least as far as creating a new table, column, key, inserting a row and selecting it out - all against postgreSQL 8.3.0). -which is a lot further than i could go with the previous version. Thanks for your work and clear instructions! As a user of PostgreSQL for one day, and (2 week) novice of *nix world, i am ecstatic at the documentation and support that has enabled me to get this far!
