In most cases, the property dialogs will make the changes for you. The reengineered SQL window shows the CREATE command only, and doesn't try to cope with changes. We will add some dependency recreation stuff for ALTER COLUMN for 7.3 and 7.4 servers, but probably not more.
So if I upgrade the underlying database from postgreSQL 7.3 to 8.0 I won't have to DROP and re-CREATE tables and/or views so often?
There have been many improvements, adding many ALTER <dbobject> commands in 7.4 and 8.0, makink life a lot easier.
