  password encyption
  Hi Dave,

  ok thank you!

but nevertheless the encryption of the user
password is not a bad idea, so what encyption method is used by
  pgadmin?
i mean i create a user with pgadmin, specify a
  password for the user
if i check the pg_shadow table i see a long text
  in the pasword field.
if i want to connect this user to the
database, what kind encyption method i have to use?

  Ivan
