just makes it use the ENCRYPTED keyword in CREATE/ALTER USER sql statements in
PostgreSQL 7.2+. Check out the PostgreSQL 7.2 documentation for details on using
the encrypted passwords.

but nevertheless the encryption of the user
password is not a bad idea, so what encyption method is used by
pgadmin?
i mean i create a user with pgadmin, specify a
password for the user
if i check the pg_shadow table i see a long text
in the pasword field.
if i want to connect this user to the
database, what kind encyption method i have to use?
