authentification method ?

Hi, i am new with pgadmin and i cant figure out how 
to connect to a remote server with a minimum secucity, sending pass in plain 
text is no acceptable, i tried crypt and kerberos 5 method, both appear not 
supported by PgAdmin.
 
Any tips ?
