I won't enjoy bashing DJI
I'm really not going to enjoy slamming drone giant DJI on my Monday
radio segment, because overall they create extremely advanced,
reliable, well supported products that are essential to law
enforcement, search and rescue, agriculture, utilities, and much more.
And they've been singled out as an (unproven!) security risk for
China-bashing political purposes by both parties with a ludicrous ban
procedure in progress.
That said, DJI's move to disable their (admittedly imperfect but still
incredibly useful) geofencing/geoblocking protection system at this
time is incredibly dangerous (including to the orgs that depend on
these drones, given the likely backlash) and needs to be roundly
condemned. -L
