The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, York University 
invites highly qualified candidates to apply for the following Professorial and 
Teaching Stream positions:
Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering – Professorial Stream (1 
Position) – Keele Campus
Recognizing the underrepresentation of Black, Indigenous, and other faculty of 
colour, this opportunity is open to qualified individuals who self-identify as 
Indigenous, and/or Black peoples of African Descent (for example Africans and 
African heritage people from the Caribbean, Americas, Europe), and/or as

hire across a number of faculties and fields of study. The successful candidate 
will be joining a vibrant scholarly community at York, where we aspire to

Computer Science – Teaching Stream (2 Positions) – Keele Campus
This position will be focused on teaching primarily undergraduate courses and 
providing educational management, guidance, and direction in enhancing teaching 
and learning through curricular and pedagogical innovation in the workplace and 
classroom. Experience in collaborating with industry and community partners is 
an asset. They will be responsible for subject matter in cybersecurity, 
software development, cloud computing, or data science. One position will be in 
the computer security field, and the other a pedagogical specialist in first 
year teaching.
Computer Security and Privacy  -- Professorial Stream (1 Position) – Keele 
Campus
This position will focus on Computer Security and Privacy broadly interpreted 
as including, but not limited to: OS security and malware analysis, software 
security, computer forensics, penetration testing and ethical hacking, mobile 
security, cloud security, user privacy, trust management, cryptography.
Computer Vision – Professorial Stream (1 Position) – Keele Campus
This position will focus on Computer Vision, broadly interpreted (including, 
but not limited to computational photography, video understanding, 
physics-based vision, vision + language/other modalities, 3D computer vision, 
learning for vision), along with a suitable record of publication in premier 
computer vision and closely related venues (including, for example, CVPR, ICCV, 
ECCV, TPAMI, NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, etc.).
Software Engineering and Embedded Systems – Professorial Stream (2 Positions) – 
Keele Campus
These positions will focus broadly on Software Engineering and Embedded Systems 
and will involve graduate teaching and supervision, as well as undergraduate 
teaching.
Earth and Space Science and Engineering (ESSE) position (Applications due Nov 
30):
The Department of Earth and Space Science and Engineering (ESSE), Lassonde 
School of Engineering at York

University invites highly qualified applicants for a:

Space Engineering (Mechatronics) - Assistant Professor, Professorial Stream – 
Keele Campus
This is a professorial stream tenure-track appointment in Space Engineering 
(Mechatronics) at the Assistant Professor level, to commence on July 1, 2023. 
While we welcome applications from individuals with experience in the 
traditional and interdisciplinary areas of space engineering, special attention 
will be given to individuals with experience that complements our current 
research and teaching activities:

  *   spacecraft dynamics and control,
  *   nano-satellite technology,
  *   space instrumentation, and
  *   space mission design.

It will be an advantage if applicants have experience teaching large 
engineering lecture classes and a demonstrated commitment to participating in 
alternative course delivery systems.

invites highly qualified applicants for a:

Common Engineering - Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream – Keele Campus

This is a teaching stream tenure-track appointment for Common Engineering at 
the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, to commence July 1, 2023.

The common engineering curriculum comprises the required first-year and a 
series of upper-year courses taken by students across all Bachelor of 
Engineering (BEng.) programs. Currently, these consist of two introductory 
courses (ethics, communications and problem solving; engineering design 
principles), two second-year courses (engineering project management and 
economics; engineering communication), and two upper-year courses (professional 
engineering practice; capstone project).

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  *   teach undergraduate courses in the common engineering curriculum
  *   provide creative educational leadership in curriculum redesign and 
pedagogical innovation
  *   collaborate with supportive colleagues in team teaching
  *   coordinate the integration of professional skills (e.g., communication, 
leadership, collaboration, project management) across the common engineering 
curriculum and project-based learning experiences
