Not strictly a Linux problem but I have hit problems configuring Evolution for IMAP with a Virgin Media mailbox. Running Mint Mate 17.1 for some time and Evolution was working fine with POP3 configuration. Tried to change to IMAP for multiple device use and it is working fine with an iPad Mini.
Deleted POP3 account details in Evolution and added IMAP option with all the configuration details set out by Virgin; ports, authentication, encryption etc. Now a 'send / receive' instruction produces a "scanning folders in 'IMAP server imap.virginmedia.com'" message in a progress bar but no further result even after 12hours. I cannot find any answers on the Web but that may be down to my poor search criteria and any mention of Evolution send Virgin Media help desk running for the hills.
