Hi,
We'd be happy to host it regularly at our data center (Positive Park),
but we are just outside March so this may be too far for many (and not
really possible to get to without a car)
We do have space, techies and fast Internet available.
Some members will recall a meeting quite a long time ago we held here.
Best regards,
Jake.

On the subject of the Peterborough Linux Group in general, I think
Mark summed up perfectly:-
It's extremely informal and has no structure. This is fine. But it
could be more formal if someone wished to take a leadership role and
that would be fine too.
It doesn't have an agenda or a programme of talks, discussions, demos
or events . . . but it could do if someone wished to organise them. In
their absence PLUG is largely social but with a technical focus -
people tinker with kit and help each other whilst chatting. Both of
these are also fine.
As far as a venue is concerned, this depends entirely on someone being
willing/able to host it. I joined shortly after the last meeting at
More Solutions and attended a few at Middleton School. Linx then took
over hosting and I think we should be grateful to Tony and latterly
Craig for this. As a venue it was perfect - warm, good size and fast
internet connectivity. But recently Tony and Craig have been busy or
abroad and many months have been missed. So I don't think PLUG has
disappeared, simply not happened.
We're a mixed group of people with a variety of skills and interests.
In the absence of a programme it does tend to be largely social and
this suits me ok, although others need more for very legitimate
reasons.
It's interesting that, when someone announces a time and place, a good
few people turn up.
I think PLUG is alive and well; we just aren't actually meeting at the
moment. I'd like it if we did.

Hi everyone,
I'm watching the discussion very closely and decided to add my
opinion...
Referring to the first posts I would like to say that on couple of
occasion when I had a chance to attend PLUG meeting I did lack
content. I was thinking along the line of having subjects for
monthly consideration and then maybe some sort of presentation with
discussion. One could say: "little less conversation, little more
action..." Good few month ago I did asked if anyone would be
interested in co-organizing local Linux presentation day but there
was no answer. I lost all hope... maybe unnecessary as it
coincidently happened while there was that mailing list outage.
I can see much more activity now but is it going to last?
I recently found my long lost round tuit and got my self a 868mzh
Slice of Radio, with which I want to monitor my water meter. Well,
round tuit went missing again and I hit an obstacle... Please, can
some one tell me how to use minicom?
Many thanks,
Bart

So there's a lot happening in Linux at the moment. Pi's are
everywhere (and the Pi 3 and Pi Zero are interesting additions to
the line up). Microsoft are making a push to "support" Linux in
all sorts of ways, including the ability to run linux binaries
directly on Windows 10 coming soon (bash on Windows!). There's
Linux everywhere on phones (in the form of Android) and Ubuntu
mobiles seem to be getting closer to reality.
Yet Peterborough LUG has gone very quiet of late.
Is anyone here? What are "we" up to?
Speaking as someone who hasn't been to a meet in absolutely ages
(they usually clash with other things and once you get out of a
habit it's easy to forget all about them) I hold my hands up to
being part of the malaise.
Is it that we're just getting on with using Linux and generally
don't have anything to talk about?
